Unlock Your Happy Fortune: 7 Proven Ways to Attract Joy and Abundance Daily

The morning sun cast long shadows across the dirt path as I tightened the straps of my backpack, feeling the familiar weight settle against my shoulders. I remember thinking how this journey reminded me of those days when I'd wake up feeling stuck in a rut, chasing happiness like it was some distant treasure I needed special maps to find. Little did I know that the very obstacles I'd face that day would teach me more about attracting joy than any self-help book ever could. You see, much like Naoe and Yasuke in their desperate quest to save Naoe's mother from the three Templar lieutenants, we're all navigating through our own versions of hidden agents and roadblocks in our pursuit of happiness.

Just last week, I found myself completely overwhelmed by what felt like the spymaster's network from that ancient tale - except my enemies were stress, deadlines, and that nagging feeling that I was constantly running behind. The Templar lieugtenants had their own sophisticated systems: the spymaster's agents hiding among ordinary villagers, ready to surprise our heroes with concealed blades, much like how negative thoughts sneak up on us during our most vulnerable moments. I've counted at least 47 instances in the past month where I'd be going about my day perfectly fine when suddenly, out of nowhere, anxiety would strike from the shadows of my own mind. Similarly, when Naoe or Yasuke sent scouts ahead, the spymaster would immediately flood those areas with reinforcements - isn't that exactly what happens when we try to plan for happiness? We overthink, we prepare for disaster, and before we know it, we've reinforced every possible path with worry and doubt.

Then there's the samurai lieutenant with his battle-hardened soldiers patrolling main roads and setting up roadblocks. God, doesn't that sound familiar? I can't tell you how many times I've tried to take the straightforward path to joy - you know, that "if I just get this promotion" or "if I just lose those 15 pounds" mentality - only to find the way blocked by unexpected challenges. Last quarter, I meticulously planned what should have been a simple path to completing my passion project, only to encounter what felt like 23 separate roadblocks within the first week alone. The samurai's strategies made getting from place to place harder for our heroes, and similarly, our rigid approaches to happiness often create more obstacles than they remove.

What truly resonated with me was the shinobi's approach - those ambushers with smoke bombs and poisoned blades waiting along side paths. This reminds me of when I try to take shortcuts to happiness, like binge-shopping or mindless scrolling through social media. These seemingly easier routes through the wilderness of quick gratification actually contain hidden traps that leave us more disoriented than before. I've personally fallen for these psychological tripwires more times than I'd care to admit - just last month, I convinced myself that buying that expensive watch would finally make me content, only to find the satisfaction lasted approximately 3 days before the emptiness crept back in.

But here's where we can actually unlock your happy fortune - those 7 proven ways to attract joy and abundance daily aren't about fighting these systems head-on, but rather understanding how to navigate them wisely. After studying these historical strategies and applying them to modern life, I've discovered that happiness works much like Naoe and Yasuke eventually learned to move through Awaji - not by confronting every soldier directly, but by understanding patterns, choosing their battles, and finding moments of peace amidst the chaos. For instance, when I started treating negative thoughts like the spymaster's hidden agents - acknowledging their presence without engaging them in combat - my mental landscape began to transform dramatically.

The real breakthrough came when I stopped trying to bulldoze through the samurai's roadblocks and instead learned to appreciate the detours. Remember that time I got stuck in traffic for 45 minutes on my way to what was supposed to be an important meeting? Instead of fuming and stressing, I discovered an amazing podcast that literally changed my perspective on creative work. This approach aligns perfectly with principle number 3 of how to unlock your happy fortune - embracing unexpected delays as opportunities rather than obstacles. Similarly, when I stopped taking those shinobi-trap shortcuts to instant gratification and instead cultivated deeper practices like morning meditation and genuine connection with friends, the quality of my happiness improved by what felt like 300%.

What Naoe and Yasuke's story teaches us, and what I've verified through my own experiences, is that abundance doesn't come from eliminating challenges but from developing the wisdom to move through them with grace. Those Templar lieutenants thought they could control happiness by controlling the physical space, much like we sometimes believe we can control our emotional state by controlling external circumstances. But the truth is, after tracking my mood patterns for 6 months and analyzing the data from over 180 days of journaling, I found that the moments of genuine joy came not when everything was perfect, but when I applied those 7 principles to find light even in difficult situations. The samurai may control the main roads, the shinobi the wilderness paths, and the spymaster the intelligence network - but none of them can control how we choose to perceive and respond to these challenges. That, my friend, is the ultimate key to unlock your happy fortune and transform your daily experience of life.

We are shifting fundamentally from historically being a take, make and dispose organisation to an avoid, reduce, reuse, and recycle organisation whilst regenerating to reduce our environmental impact.  We see significant potential in this space for our operations and for our industry, not only to reduce waste and improve resource use efficiency, but to transform our view of the finite resources in our care.

Looking to the Future

By 2022, we will establish a pilot for circularity at our Goonoo feedlot that builds on our current initiatives in water, manure and local sourcing.  We will extend these initiatives to reach our full circularity potential at Goonoo feedlot and then draw on this pilot to light a pathway to integrating circularity across our supply chain.

The quality of our product and ongoing health of our business is intrinsically linked to healthy and functioning ecosystems.  We recognise our potential to play our part in reversing the decline in biodiversity, building soil health and protecting key ecosystems in our care.  This theme extends on the core initiatives and practices already embedded in our business including our sustainable stocking strategy and our long-standing best practice Rangelands Management program, to a more a holistic approach to our landscape.

We are the custodians of a significant natural asset that extends across 6.4 million hectares in some of the most remote parts of Australia.  Building a strong foundation of condition assessment will be fundamental to mapping out a successful pathway to improving the health of the landscape and to drive growth in the value of our Natural Capital.

Our Commitment

We will work with Accounting for Nature to develop a scientifically robust and certifiable framework to measure and report on the condition of natural capital, including biodiversity, across AACo’s assets by 2023.  We will apply that framework to baseline priority assets by 2024.

Looking to the Future

By 2030 we will improve landscape and soil health by increasing the percentage of our estate achieving greater than 50% persistent groundcover with regional targets of:

– Savannah and Tropics – 90% of land achieving >50% cover

– Sub-tropics – 80% of land achieving >50% perennial cover

– Grasslands – 80% of land achieving >50% cover

– Desert country – 60% of land achieving >50% cover
